christmas with addie!

it’s addie’s first christmas!  here she is standing up like a hot shot.  we’re all excited that the holidays are here.  we’re enjoying some time off here in texas with GG and g’ma and uncle vance, but we sure do miss the rest of the o’haras!  addie is doing great, she’s really enjoying crawling, working on standing up, and refusing to go to bed on time at night…

we hope everyone is having as terrific a holiday season as we are!

6 weeks old!

addie celebrated being 6 weeks old by throwing up on me. of course it was only revenge for singing to her right after a meal, so it’s difficult to hold it against her. this pic is from about an hour later. brie says she’s smiling because she’s remembering the incident fondly…

today has been a great day! brie and i got some sleep last night because addie was eating so well. brie was up and about quite a bit today and she’s doing very well. addie has been fantastic! she loves looking around at everything (not seen in this picture…), and i’ve finally found someone that doesn’t shout at me when i’m singing.

only a few minutes old and already we’re in love! just look at these two beautiful girls!  we spent a few hours in the recovery room.  rhonda was out in the waiting room so i stepped out briefly to tell her the good news and sent a quick hello to nana as well.  a bit later they let rhonda (amie) and steph into recovery to say hi, then they wheeled us up to our room. 

i’ll point out here that addie is already eating like she’s been at it for years.  not an easy task for any new mom, but brie and addie have knocked it out thus far.  i suppose we should have known our daughter would find eating to be a breeze, though.  give it 6 weeks and she’ll probably be ordering pizzas while we’re not watching… 

dr smith introduces addie to the world!

they brought us into the OR just before 11:30.  dr. smith was quick to make an appearance, and it wasn’t too long before we were in action.  by 11:52 dr. smith was introducing addie to me!  brie had some work left to do so addie and i danced to the beatles while they finished up.  soon enough we were on to recovery!  mommy and addie both healthy and happy!
